The advancing floor of the dungeon causes game to freeze

Postby shockedder » Tue Jan 20, 2015 10:45 am

When clearing multiple rows of tiles from the tyrant's hoard, if you grab a tile and hold it against the moving floor of the dungeon, the game freezes.
This only happens when multiple rows are cleared, I haven't been able to reproduce it for a single row.

I cannot seem to replicate this, but perhaps I am misinterpreting your directions. Here is what I am doing: I clear multiple rows of tiles, then I grab the top-most remaining row before the tile queue (which is the internal name for the moving bar) descends to its new resting place. Does that sound right to you?

Yes, it sounds like what I was doing.
I'll grab a screenshot next time it happens, to help.
To be fair, it happened about 2 times in more than 100 game runs, so it's not that bad.
Will let you know.

Hi,
Just happened again.
However it had nothing to do with the tile queue this time, so maybe that was a red herring.
I still have the game in this state (haven't killed the process yet), so if there's something you need me to
do to extract more information, please let me know.
Cheers.

Take and post a screenshot, for one thing, sometimes just being able to see the current state of the tomb can reveal valuable information.

Added snapshot. Will keep the process alive for now, in case more debugging data is needed.
Regards.

Where did you add the screenshot? I am not seeing one on my end.

Oh, this is not the latest version (I notice it doesn't have rituals), so it may be the same freeze people were experiencing last week. And I can see you have Dark Dwarves which were the character I verified that crash on (there may be others that also cause it, but it should be pretty rare).

I'll submit the latest build to Humble right now. Thanks for the report; I'll post here when I hear Humble has updated (probably sometime tomorrow).
[Edit: I went ahead and messaged you a direct link to the latest build, so you don't have to wait for the update.]

Neat.
I'll terminate the process then.
I'm guessing Steam probably has a more up-to-date version (due to the way it pushes changes), but I really don't like the platform.
Sorry to disturbed you for nothing :|
